Tagg Lain has a rich history in coaching, particularly in the sport of baseball. A native
to Cheyenne, his journey began as a young adult, pledging to change the local baseball scene that once struggled to thrive. At the tender age of 21, he commenced his coaching career as an assistant for the Hawks in 1987. His mission was simple but profound: to ensure every child in Cheyenne had the opportunity to play baseball
His dedication led him to become the manager of the Cheyenne American Legion Post 6 baseball team, a position he held for 22 seasons. Under his stewardship, the team clinched 14 state championships and amassed a remarkable 990 victories. His transformative leadership turned the Post 6 program into a dominant force on the baseball diamond2

In addition to his baseball acumen, Tagg Lain had a successful stint as the Cheyenne Central Boys Basketball Head Coach, dedicating 30 years of service to LCSD #1 before announcing his retirement in 2022. However, his love for baseball pulled him back into the dugout, and by 2023, he resumed his coaching career in Fort Collins, adding another chapter to his enduring legacy.

Tagg Lain's versatile coaching career, coupled with his enduring commitment to youth sports, makes him a cherished figure in the local sports community. His return to baseball coaching in Fort Collins is a testament to his undying passion for the sport and his lifelong mission to foster a love for baseball among the youth.
